‘Taste the Barossa’ partner with Little Heroes Foundation
Little Heroes Foundation is excited to announce a new partnership with Taste the Barossa, effective from September 1, 2018.
The partnership will see 10% proceeds from all bookings made directly to Taste the Barossa by hotel staff donated to Little Heroes Foundation, to help fund our ongoing projects and programs.
The partnership came about when Nikki and Dallas Coull, owners of Taste the Barossa, decided to change the way they were rewarding the hotels when they secure a booking.
“Previously we would happily give a concierge or front office person a gift certificate, some wine or a gift basket to thank them for booking passengers on our tour,” said Dallas Coull.
“Then a month or so ago we started to get emails and calls from General Managers and head offices of Hotels interstate saying they no longer wanted the front office staff to receive these thankyou’s and we were asked to instead pay money directly into their hotels nominated back accounts.
“To be honest I wasn’t a massive fan of the staff at the coal face missing out and head offices interstate or overseas just adding extra money on their bottom line. If the staff weren’t allowed to receive a thank you then we thought let’s just give the financial equivalent to charity.”
“Taste the Barossa is passionate about South Australia and really keen to support a local charity, so the connection to the Little Heroes Foundation just made sense.”
“This is a partnership I am hoping the South Australian Tourism Industry as a whole will get behind!”
Taste the Barossa also name their tour buses after South Australian sporting legends, Boof (Darren Lehmann), Erin (Erin Philips), Mahersy (Brett Maher) and Bone, after our very own Chris McDermott.
When speaking about the partnership, Little Heroes Foundation Chairman and CEO Chris McDermott said he looked forward to being involved with another proud South Australian business.
“This is the first of some very exciting announcements for Little Heroes Foundation over the coming weeks.”
“I thank Dallas and Nikki for their generosity, which will make a difference to the families we support that are doing it tough.”
Every quarter, Little Heroes Foundation will provide an audited receipt of all donations made to them via Taste the Barossa to each hotel.
