Star Jockey becomes latest Little Heroes Foundation Ambassador

Little Heroes Foundation is excited to announce Clare Lindop as our newest Brand Ambassador!

Recognised as one of the most accomplished female jockeys of all time, Clare has claimed multiple South Australian jockey premierships, and more than 1200 career winners, including four Group 1 victories!

A trailblazer for females in the sport of competitive racing, Clare was the first Australian female to ever ride in the famed Melbourne Cup, where she rode ‘Debben’ for Leon McDonald in 2003, a trainer she began working with during her apprenticeship days in Adelaide three years prior.

Clare has now ridden in the Melbourne Cup on three occasions, with a 5th place aboard ‘Dolphin Jo’ in 2007 being her best finish.

In 2008, Clare claimed her biggest victory aboard “Rebel Raider’ in the Victoria Derby.

Clare is now established as one of the leading riders in South Australia and in season 2014/15 rode 97 winners to easily win her third metropolitan title. Currently she is running 2nd on the Premiership in season 2017.

Speaking at our Mother’s Day Luncheon on Friday 12th May at the National Wine Centre, Clare is excited to be joining the Foundation, after touring the facilities and equipment that we have funded.

“It’s great to be able to give back to a foundation that does so much for sick children and their families in SA.”

“Having seen some of the work they have done at the Women’s and Children’s Hospital, and through meeting the team, I am proud to be joining the Foundation as an ambassador, so that I can do my part to support these kids.”

From the entire team at Little Heroes Foundation, we welcome Clare as an exciting and inspirational ambassador of our Foundation. We also wish her good luck, as she competes in Race 3 at Morphettville Racecourse tomorrow, Saturday 20th May.

In related news, Little Heroes Foundation can also confirm that we have another new face joining our team of ambassadors. Watch this space for an announcement soon!
