Mother’s Day Luncheon raises over $30,000 for our Robotic Centre
Little Heroes Foundation would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to every guest and supporter for their efforts on Friday at our Mother’s Day Luncheon. Thanks to your support, a total of $30,775 was raised for seriously ill children!
Once again, the National Wine Centre looked absolutely stunning, thanks to the efforts of the Wine Centre staff, our staff (in particular Caroline, Sam and Mel) as well as Le Cornu for their beautiful photo space!
The day, hosted by Rosanna Mangiarelli, kicked off with a gorgeous fashion parade directed by the wonderful Markus Hamence, featuring designs by Jaimie Sortino, SIG The Label, Simmone Standing, Couture Love Madness, and Numbers and Letters. As our guests arrived they were treated to a glass of champagne or delicious sangria, thanks to Paracombe Premium Wines and LVP Sangria.
Entertaining our guests for the day were Little Heroes Foundation ambassadors Alisa Fraser from The Block and Australian netball royalty Nat Bode, who spoke of their experiences since becoming mums in January.
My Kitchen Rules duo Rosie and Paige also joined our guests, speaking of their experiences on the hit TV show and life post MKR.
Our guests also enjoyed $20 Glam Bags, full of a variety of products including various Davroe Hair Wellness packs, Carmex Lip Balm, Natralus Paw Paw Lip Balm, Serafina VIP Discount Cards, Vidal Sassoon Bamboo Hair Brushes, Inspired Candles and Appleseed Photography Vouchers. Everyone who bought a bag also went into the draw to win a $500 Carla Zampatti voucher!
Harris Real Estate’s Greg Moulton returned as our auctioneer for the day, as guests were given the opportunity to win items kindly donated by Sinclair Recruitment, The Beach House, Nova, Le Cornu, Coca Cola, Adelaide Festival Centre, Markus Hamence, Adelaide BMW, Atelier Make Up and Penfold’s Winery.
Our Silent Auction included items donated by Le Cornu, Alisa and Lysandra, Art by Kaz, Spring Gully, Davroe, Violet New Village, Westfield, Stadium Stomp, Sugar and Spice, and Appleseed Photography.
However, the highlight of the day was hearing from our special guest speaker Deb. As the mother of Maddison, one of our little heroes, Deb spoke of her experiences, explaining how her family discovered Maddison’s condition, how they have adapted, and how Little Heroes Foundation has offered support. It was a very special and raw moment for Deb to share with our guests and we can’t thank her enough for doing so. We know that there were quite a few tears from our guests (and staff!) and her speech acted as a reminder for why we host these events. Thank you so much Deb, from the bottom of our hearts.
Little Heroes Foundation would also like to thank the follow businesses for their support of our 2016 Mother’s Day Luncheon. See you all next year!
