Melbourne Cup Luncheon raises over $81,000 for our Little Heroes!

Little Heroes Foundation would like to extend a special thank you to everyone who supported our Melbourne Cup Luncheon on Tuesday 1 November. You helped raise over $81,000 to help us provide ongoing support for seriously ill children and their families!

As always, the National Wine Centre looked amazing, with this year’s theme featuring tones of black, white and gold with a touch of florals!

The day was hosted by Channel 7/Today Tonight’s Rosanna Mangiarelli, before she hopped on a plane to compete in the New York Marathon on November 6 – an amazing effort on Rosanna’s part and we thank her profusely for her continued support for our events!

The day’s activities kicked off with a stunning fashion parade featuring Two Pairs, Jaimie Sortino and for the first time ever we showcased some male clothing by Jack London (modelled by the Firies of course!) A big thank you to the team at Davroe, Nutrimetics and Markus Hamence for their incredible work in organising the parade for our guests.

A delightful lolly bar awaited our guests after lunch, courtesy of Sweet Design Buffet, as well as a caravan Photo Booth, Free Make Up touch ups throughout the day thanks to the Nutrimetics team, and two on-site bookies!

All of our guests also received goodie bags which included Davroe Hair Products, Natralus Paw Paw Packs, FruChos from Robern Menz, and a selection of vouchers from Simone Pérèle, Jack London, Edible Blooms, and Ark Clothing Co.

Our Wine Wall featured a selection of wines from Tahbilk, Artwine, Bridgewater Mill, Hanging Rock, Kay Brothers, Pauletts Trillians, Tomich, Paracombe, and Kies.

Thanks to auctioneer Greg Moulton, the day’s Major Auction was hugely successful, with items donated by Davroe, Adelaide Festival Centre, John Hansen Blue Ice Charters, Sea Temple Resort & Spa, Coca Cola Amatil, Spartan Electrical, Rob Kerin, FiveAA, Newscorp, Boileau, Vater Glenelg Marina Precinct, Cricket Australia and Adelaide Oval.

To end the day, guests were invited to vote (with their applause) for the day’s best dressed in our Fashions in the Field competition, before all tuning in for the big race!

From the team at Little Heroes Foundation, we thank all who attended or supported what was a very successful event for our Little Heroes and we can’t wait to do it all again next year! Please check out the full photo gallery below!
