Little Heroes CEO Visits Alice Springs
Our CEO Sean Connors loves his sport and couldn’t resist visiting Alice Springs over the weekend to show his and Little Heroes Foundation’s support for our latest corporate partner, the APY Thunder!
Leaving on the Sunday morning, Sean met up with David Coutzner of Skill Hire, Luke Powell of the Woodville West Torrens Eagles, Kurt Slaven and Michael Godden before travelling to Traegar Park to see the APY Thunder take on the Central Australian Country Side!
After the game, Sean, David, Luke and Michael all enjoyed a BBQ with the players including Don Barry, Amos Frank, Kieren Roberts and Nelson Peters.
Through meeting the players, Sean learned more about how this football program had impacted their lives, only further solidifying our partnership with this fantastic initiative.
“It’s a fantastic program the boys are participating in,” he said. “It gives us a greater understanding of the needs of kids in the APY Lands.”
During his stay, Sean also met with Naomi Heinrich, the General Manager of the Alice Springs Hospital to tour the Paediatric Facilities. Excited to learn more about the programs in place, Sean said that the opportunity to see it in person was fantastic!
“It’s great to see what is being done at the Alice Springs Hospital, seeing as it has a very close relationship with the Women’s and Children’s Hospital where we are based,” he said.
“There are some children that are required to travel down to Adelaide’s Women’s and Children’s Hospital for treatment so for us to see where their journey begins before they come to Adelaide is great!”
Little Heroes Foundation would like to thank Naomi for allowing Sean to see their facilities and programs that are supporting children living with serious illness in Alice Springs.
Sean’s trip also provided an incredible opportunity for Zeron Wayne, a member of the APY Thunder who was invited to train with the Woodville West Torrens Eagles! From all at Little Heroes Foundation, congratulations Zeron!
We would also like to encourage as many of you and possible to attend the Adelaide vs Collingwood AFL match from 4:30pm at Adelaide Oval on Saturday night, to see the APY Thunder take on Maralinga!
