Little Hero Ivy loses battle with EB

Our sincerest condolences to Hannah, Steve and family

Late last week, our team learned of the tragic passing of long-time Little Hero Ivy Krause.

For 11 years, Ivy had battled the debilitating and rare skin condition known as Epidermolysis Bullosa – a condition that presented itself at birth when she was born with no skin on her left leg.

It was not long after the introduction of our Little Heroes Care Program that we were introduced to Ivy and her family, establishing a specialised nursing service for Ivy within the home to support her treatment and her family with this routine.

The past few months have been incredibly hard for the Krause family, who have been working through a number of complications with Ivy’s condition, including lengthy hospital stays throughout August and September.

In this time, Ivy’s parents Hannah and Steve, along with dedicated family and friends have also been hard at work organising their special Gala Ball fundraiser for Little Heroes Foundation. The Little Wings Ball is Hannah and Steve’s way of saying thank you and giving back to those who have supported Ivy, to ensure that other families can also continue to be supported during their own journeys with serious illness.

Hannah and Steve remain steadfast in their goal to give back and support other families like theirs, which is a credit to themselves as individuals and as a family.

Rest in Peace beautiful Ivy – you were an inspiration to all of the team (both past and present) at Little Heroes Foundation.
