Little Breakthrough Heroes Gala Ball 2023

The Little Breakthrough Heroes Gala Ball held last June 24 was a magnificent evening, bringing us all together to shine a light on the mental health and well-being of South Australian children.

We are excited to share that thanks to everyone’s generosity, we were able to raise $190,380. This amount will go an incredibly long way towards providing much-needed mental health research for our children.

The special night started with a surprise performance by the talented children of Vocal Hub Kids. Professor Murray Drummond from Flinders University Institute for Mental Health and Wellbeing also then shared with us its longstanding partnership with Little Heroes and Breakthrough and highlighted some of its important work in mental health and wellbeing. Holly Marquis, the CEO’s daughter and Cellar Door Manager of Mollydooker Wines, also graced us with her presence and introduced us to the exquisite wines that we enjoyed throughout the night.

As the evening progressed, the dance floor heated up when the multi-platinum-selling singer-songwriter Ricki-Lee took the stage, captivating us all with her show-stopping performance. Following that, we were treated to a mesmerising and heartfelt act by Magic Mike (Not A Stripper), who left us spellbound not only with his magic tricks but also with a deeply personal and impactful story about mental health. Finally, Entertainment Adelaide packed the dance floor with a dynamic set, accompanied by bongos and a live saxophonist.

This magical night was made possible with the generosity of our sponsors. Davroe, who generously supplied the amazing products for guests to take home, Mollydooker, for the magnificent wines, and the iconic West End, who donated the beer for the evening. We would also like to extend our biggest gratitude to our platinum sponsor, Flinders University, and our gold sponsors, Ernest Young and Thomas Foods International.

We would also like to acknowledge the wonderful generosity of all the businesses that contributed products, services, and vouchers for our Major Auction, Silent Auction, and Raffle. Your support was greatly appreciated.

Thank you to everyone who volunteered, attended, and extended help in their own special ways. If you would like to learn more about how you can help in our mission to raise awareness of this horrible disease we would love to hear from you. Without support from wonderful people such as yourself, our work to help children suffering from a physical or mental illness would not be possible.

We are already excited for the next one, and we hope to see you there again.
