Little Heroes Foundation is so excited to announce a brand new partnership between the foundation, Woodville West Torrens FC and APY Lands Representative Football team, APY Thunder. The partnership will see the Little Heroes Foundation logo featured on the APY Thunder guernsey!

Hailing from the APY Lands (Anangu Pitjantjatjara Yankunytjatjara) in far north-west South Australia, the APY Thunder is a football program designed to empower young people within aboriginal communities, and give them an opportunity to play football for their country and their people.

In a media release published earlier today, APY Thunder says

“We [APY Thunder] are extremely proud to have the Little Heroes Foundation associated with the program. The great work the Little Heroes Foundation does in supporting seriously ill children and raising much needed funds for medical equipment at the Women’s and Children’s Hospital based in Adelaide, would have assisted many Anangu over the years. The partnership demonstrates APY Thunder’s commitment in ensuring that it is not only identified as a football team, but also a support of community welfare and wellbeing.”

The Woodville West Torrens Football Club has also aligned themselves with APY Thunder. The Eagles have already begun to work with the APY Thunder coaching department in structuring coaching and player development activities for the week leading up to the Don McSweeny Aboriginal Lands Cup.

Little Heroes Foundation is so proud to officially align itself with this fantastic iniative and look forward to a mutually beneficial partnership between ourselves, APY Thunder and the Woodville West Torrens Eagles.
