Gas Cylinder Brazier/BBQs raise over $6,000 at Potato Dinner Auction

It was a fun night at the Annual Potato Industry Dinner held at the National Wine Centre last month. In case you missed our previous story, the main auction (the only one of its kind in Australia – a box of new season baby potatoes) was won by Thomas Foods International Fresh Produce, with a final bid of $10,250 – an outstanding result!

As a special addition this year, a gas cylinder, artistically crafted into an impressive bespoke Brazier and BBQ was also auctioned off with proceeds supporting Little Heroes Foundation. Donated by A- Gas Rural, this special piece was the brain child of Matthew Stein, General Manager of A-Gas Rural, and sold for $2,200 to Mr Ross Trimboli, Director GTS Farms Pty Ltd.

Little Heroes Foundation was then incredibly humbled and surprised when two more of the special Brazier/BBQs were sold to the Widdison families of Kalangadoo, in the South East, for the same price after the hammer went down. Talk about hot potatoes!

This incredible generosity from our auction winners took the total money raised to a sensational $16,850!

Little Heroes Foundation wishes to acknowledge and send a massive thank you ‘threefold’ to Matt Stein and A-Gas Rural for their generous support in donating these amazing Brazier/BBQs.

The money raised will go towards supporting children living with cancer and serious illness, and their families. Little Heroes Foundation Founding Chairman Mr Chris McDermott praised Potatoes SA for their continued support of the foundation by growing this fundraiser each year.

A-Gas Rural specialises in the supply of fumigation chemicals, application equipment and services to the agricultural sector from their manufacturing, blending and import storage facility located in Adelaide suburb of Wingfield.

Their primary focus in the market place is supplying sustainable alternatives to the Ozone depleting Methyl Bromide. They are also involved in supplying fumigation equipment and monitoring devices as well as designing and implementing fumigation systems.
