Everything you need to know ahead of the Finesse Built Slowdown
Our Finesse Built Slowdown is THIS Sunday! Come on down to Norwood Oval and watch the Slowdown All Stars clash with the SANFL Legends.
There’s no place dad would rather be this Father’s Day! So read on to find out what to expect on the day…
HOW TO GET THERE
Public transport will be running as per usual Sunday timetables. Stop 7 on The Parade is just a short walk to Norwood Oval on Woods Street and serviced by a number of buses (H20, H20C, H20R, H21, H22, H22C, H22L, H23, H24, and N22). Please visit www.adelaidemetro.com.au for more information.
PARKING
Public parking is available in surrounding side streets. Be sure to allow time for parking if you will be arriving closer to the first bounce at 1:30pm.
11:00am GATES OPEN
Gates 1 (Main Entrance) and 4 (Wally Miller Gate) will be open for the game. Entry is $5 or a gold coin donation for concession and children under 12. Remember that proceeds from the game will support our ongoing Little Heroes Care program. You can find out more about this program here.
PRE-GAME ACTIVITIES
Aside from our all star line up, Slowdown is all about celebrating our Little Heroes, so we will have plenty of pre-game entertainment to keep you occupied.
The team from Games 2 U will be set up outside the oval with hampster balls and their games van, Spectacular Kids Parties are coming with paintbrush in hand for some facepainting, and In2Cricket will be bringing some inflatable cricket games!
Our radio sponsor Triple M will also be setting up out the front of the oval, so be sure to check out all of our pre-game activities outside the oval near The Parade.
Plus throughout the day, keep an eye out for some of our roaming mascots, including:
• Claude the Crow
• Mr Fruchoc
• Glenelg FC Tiger
• Central Districts Bulldog
• Fleurieu Milk Company’s ‘Mootilda’
• Adelaide Strikers ‘Smash and Summer’
• Wonder Woman
Of course, we will also have our traditional kick ‘n’ catch on the oval at half time as well as after the post-match presentations!
CURTAIN RAISER
From 11:30am to 12:30pm, the Inclusive Sport SA and Adelaide Footy League C7 Division (for footballers with an integration difficulty) will play in a curtain raiser game before the big match!
In the Slowdown itself, twin brothers from the program Jesse and Luke Goodman are taking place on the field amongst the footy legends of South Australia.
This is a wonderful opportunity for the Goodman’s who both compete in the C7 Division, have made SA representative teams and have been selected in the All-Australian Team for players with an intellectual disability! They are fantastic ambassadors for football, showcasing the talent that players with a disability can have.
ENTERTAINMENT
Singing the National Anthem today is our special guest singer Alex De Porteous. At just 18 years of age, Alex has worked with some of the biggest names in the music industry, and has made a big impact on the local cabaret scene! Alex works as a co-presenter on SceneTV, who have supported Little Heroes Foundations at some of our biggest events! Be sure to give Alex a big welcome when she performs our National Anthem today!
Also, returning again in 2017 are our amazing skydivers from Adelaide Tandem Skydiving, at Lower Light. Gary, Martin, Tomasso, Justin and Allan are all skydiving veterans, ranging from 700 jumps to over 7100 jumps! Little Heroes Foundation is very thankful to have the support of Allan and his team again for our Finesse Built Slowdown.
1:30pm – FIRST BOUNCE
The game begins! As always, there will be half time kick ‘n’ catch on the oval. Footballs will be available to purchase from our Merchandise outlet in the Rotunda outside the oval. Be sure to get in quick before we sell out!!
3:15pm – GAME FINISHES
Norwood Oval will be available for kick ‘n’ catch after trophy and medal presentations conclude.

HOW TO DONATE
Slowdown is Little Heroes Foundation’s most anticipated event of the year and raises much needed funds to support seriously ill children and their families.
On the day and through our delayed match telecast, we are encouraging everyone to SMS “Hero” to 0437 371 371 and make a donation if they can. All proceeds are greatly appreciated and go towards our ongoing Little Heroes Care program.
We’re also hosting a game day 50/50 lottery thanks to Rod Jameson and the team at Win 50-50 for your chance to win up to $5,000!
Rod has been a regular player in our Slowdowns since they began in 2000, and although he won’t be playing in Sunday’s game, he’ll certainly be involved. Part proceeds from the lottery will be donated to Little Heroes Foundation – please visit for more information.
