‘Building Dreams’ officially launches!

On Friday 16th March, on the very block of land that will soon have a magnificent home built upon it, we hosted a special BBQ to launch an exciting new fundraising project – ‘Building Dreams’.

About the Project

The brainchild of Finesse Built Director Matt Beckwith, Building Dreams is a brand new housing project that will see a spectacular home built in Somerton Park, to be auctioned off to support our Little Heroes.

The project has been a work in progress for Matt and his team for quite some time, and through his close connection to one of our Little Heroes families, Matt met with our Chairman Chris McDermott to pitch an idea. Through the generosity of a client, a block of land became available, and as the saying goes, the rest is history. Now, here we are, launching a brand new fundraiser!

Already Building Dreams has received incredible support from many local suppliers, tradesmen and businesses. This BBQ, while also marking the official launch of the project, was also our way of beginning to say thank you to everyone who has supported this project so far, including our major sponsors – Alisa and Lysandra, Harris Real Estate, Master Builders SA, FiveAA, TripleM and SA Life.

From the ground up, this home will be a beautiful, modern, quality build – worthy of the Finesse Built brand. Their skilled architects, in collaboration with Alisa and Lysandra have designed an amazing and stylish home, that will feature 4 spacious bedrooms, a glamourous Alisa and Lysandra styled kitchen, plus much more!

A floor plan of the project can be downloaded here.

At the moment, the block and land has been cleared, the fences are up and construction will begin with some more earth moving and laying the foundations by the end of the month.

Where the money will be going

For Little Heroes Foundation, the ‘Building Dreams’ project will be living up to its name, by allowing us to continue to make a difference to the lives of these families through our Little Heroes Care program.

This program is all about supporting children and families in their lives after diagnosis of a serious illness. As parents seize working to support their child through treatment, Little Heroes Care is there to help cover unexpected bills and costs.

Additionally, the program provides families with vouchers for groceries, fuel cards for travelling between appointments, professional home cleaning, backyard play equipment so children with compromised immune systems don’t miss out on important play time. Even something as simple as offering free car parking close to the Women’s and Children’s Hospital can go a long way in supporting families during their tough journeys with cancer or other serious illness.

Who is making it happen!
