Flotilla for Kids Set Sail Again
Flotilla for Kids returned to Port Adelaide on Sunday and what a day it was! We had so much fun and are excited to make this wonderful event even better for next year!
Over 75 boats registered to be a part of the day, which was a fantastic result for our first time running Flotilla for Kids.
Meeting at the Royal South Australian Yacht Squadron in the morning, our families, boat crews and staff were greeted by His Excellency the Honourable Hieu Van Le AO Governor of South Australia and his wife, Mrs Le, who welcomed Flotilla back to the Port!
Down at the Wharf, the Wild at Hart markets were in full swing, offering fresh, local produce, gourmet food, and arts and crafts for the kids to enjoy.
The Flotilla arrived just after 12pm, lead by the One and All, carrying a number of our ‘Little Heroes’. Once anchored, the rest of the flotilla made their way down past the wharf, looping back and saluting the crowd.
The boats then made their way back up the river to the RSAYS, arriving to a freshly cooked BBQ and drinks.
A big congratulations are in order for the winners of our Best Themed, Most Colourful and Outstanding Fundraising competitions.
EMMA – Best Themed Outrageous – Most Colourful
And congratulations to the Cruising Yacht Club of South Australia, for the most Outstanding Fundraising, with a total of $1,550 raised!
