1.1 Little Heroes Foundation is bound by the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs) contained in the Privacy Act 1988 (as amended).
2. Open and transparent management of personal and sensitive information
Little Heroes Foundation is committed to being open and transparent about how it manages personal and sensitive information.
3. Anonymity and pseudonymity
When lawful and practicable, your anonymity will be presumed. Little Heroes Foundation will request your personal information if required or authorised by or under an Australian law or if it is impracticable for Little Heroes Foundation to deal with you unless you have properly identified yourself.
4. Types of personal and sensitive information LHF collects
4.1 Little Heroes Foundation collects both personal and sensitive information (including health information) from individuals, organisation and other legal entities.
4.2 The information Little Heroes Foundation collects being your name, contact details, payment information, business/company information, health information, family information and referrals and health reports and recommendations are only requested depending on the level of service Little Heroes Foundation is providing to you or you are providing to Little Heroes Foundation.
4.3 Little Heroes Foundation only collects sensitive information in circumstances where the individual consents to the collection of the information and that information is reasonably necessary for one or more of the Little Heroes Foundation’s functions or activities.
4.4 Little Heroes Foundation holds any information collected in a computer server.
5. The Purposes for which Little Heroes Foundation collects, holds, uses and discloses personal information
5.1 Little Heroes Foundation holds and uses both personal and sensitive information (including health information) collected for the following purposes:
5.1.1 to administer its business activities;
5.1.2 to receive a benefit, product or service;
5.1.3 to monitor the use of the benefit and/or service;
5.1.4 to improve its content and service offerings;
5.1.5 to process payments;
5.1.6 to carry out Police Clearance reports;
5.1.7 marketing and promotional collateral including website; and
5.1.8 for other lawful purposes.
5.2 Little Heroes Foundation does not disclose information it collects to any outside person, organisation or entity without the consent of the person providing the information except for when the information is used to administer business activities such as fundraising.
6. Enquiries & Complaints
6.1 You can make enquiries, requests to access/delete or correct your information, or complain about alleged breaches of the APPs.
6.2 You will need to do so in writing to firstname.lastname@example.org or by mail to 147 Tynte Street, North Adelaide SA 5006 marked to the attention of the Chief Executive Officer.
7.1 Subject to some exceptions that are set out in the APPs, you can gain access to the information that Little Heroes Foundation holds about you.
7.2 If Little Heroes Foundation refuses to provide you with access to your personal information, Little Heroes Foundation will notify you in writing of the reasons for the refusal.
You may request that Little Heroes Foundation correct the personal information that Little Heroes Foundation holds about you if you deem it to be inaccurate, incomplete, out-of-date, irrelevant or misleading. Little Heroes Foundation will take reasonable steps under the circumstances to correct such information.
Little Heroes Foundation aims to acknowledge receipt of all complaints within 10 working days, and aim to resolve all complaints within 20 working days. This may not be possible in all circumstances depending on the contents of the complaint. In this situation, Little Heroes Foundation will respond to your complaint in a reasonable time. If you are not satisfied with Little Heroes Foundation’s response to your complaint, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (http://www.oaic.gov.au/).
10. Overseas Transfer of Data
Little Heroes Foundation will not transfer your personal or sensitive information to an overseas recipient unless you have consented in writing.
