| | | | Merry Christmas from Little Heroes FoundationOn behalf of all of us at Little Heroes Foundation I would just like to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and I hope all your wishes come true over the festive season.
It was great to catch up with so many of you at our Christmas Party on Monday. It continues to be our favourite event of the year.
With the new MRI now up and running the Michael Rice Centre (HOC) at the WCH will follow soon in the early part of 2012. Developing our ChildFamilyCare program will be our main focus over the next 12 months and any feedback you can give us would be gratefully accepted/
The office will be closed until January 9, but I will be available and all phone calls will divert to me.
Merry Christmas,
Chris McDermott |
 | Picture perfect exhibitionDr John Flett has spent four years creating a collection of beautiful paintings that will be on display at for a month in early 2012, with the proceeds made from each painting sold going directly to Little Heroes Foundation.
Dr Flett has used an eye-popping mix of colours to immortalise some of the landscapes that have captured his attention. We are absolutely thrilled to be the beneficiaries of such a beautiful event, and thank Dr Flett for all his hard work.
The 'In Praise of Australia' Exhibition will be launched on Friday January 20, 2012, at the Pepper Street Arts Centre on Magill Road. |
 | Bowled over by Christmas spirit! On Monday December 19, AMF Woodville was taken over by Little Heroes Foundation and 150 children for the annual Christmas Party.
The bowling centre was quickly transformed into a children's paradise with ten pin bowling, craft stations, and a lolly bar on offer throughout the morning.
We were also lucky enough to have a special visit from Santa who arrived with a sack full of presents for each and every one of the Little Heroes Foundation children which in the end left us swimming in a sea of ripped up wrapping paper and ribbon.
It was a fantastic morning and a great way to finish up the year! |
 | Christmas comes early for kidsOn Wednesday December 7, some Little Heroes Foundation children were whisked away to enjoy a special morning with some extra special guests at the David Jones Magic Cave.
The twenty children were treated like Christmas Kings and Queens snacking on delicious treats like popcorn, riding the merry-go-round and catching up with the one and only, Father Christmas, to update him on this year's must haves and additions to their Christmas Wish Lists.
Thanks to the generosity of the staff at David Jones, their Magic Cave, and the Credit Union Pageant Company, children who are currently too unwell to visit the Magic Cave - due to large crowds and other factors - were still able to experience this very special Christmas tradition. |
