When she was just 2 years old, Meg was diagnosed with a brain tumour. Heartbreakingly, she was diagnosed with a second tumour just 3 years later. Treatments have left Meg with some physical and intellectual disabilities, but she is still here, and it was through our Art Therapy classes that Meg thrived.
From the little girl perched on Chris's shoulders to the woman she is today, we are so glad to have supported her all these years. Find out how Meg is going in her latest message below:
Hi everyone, just a quick update on all the great things I have been doing.
As usual I have lots of social events that I attend but I also have to do my work.
I am in the Little Heroes office once a month helping the staff with any jobs they may need. I am good at filing, sorting and putting stickers on buckets.
I also attend the Changing Canvas in Glenelg every Wednesday to do my art work. This has been one of the many things that Little Heroes has helped me with. The art ladies are one of my social circles and we always have coffee and cake at the new café No 6, and I always let them all know what is happening on the Bold and the Beautiful. I have made many wonderful friends and creations at The Changing Canvas.
My health is good at the moment, although I did start having seizures but I’m on medication to stop them. I am due for a new Shunt soon, so probably back in hospital with that when the time comes. I’ve been working with a new Physiotherapist and Podiatrist to help with my walking which has been going really well. This means I can get some nice girly shoes to wear that will support my foot better.
I am always busy doing something with my time, my Carer Liz plans lots of fun things to do and we also volunteer at a music group called Magpies. I have been very lucky to have the assistance of Little Heroes Foundation and if it wasn’t for them I would not have met Super Girl last year at the Christmas party!
Thank You Little Heroes!
